Have a favorite family recipe that has been handed down generation to generation? How about a creation of your own you want to share? The Twin Cities Slovenians offers you a chance to share your treasured recipes with others. Slovenian dishes would be a great addition to our website, but we welcome a dish from any nationality. Maybe you have a special technique for Potica, a secret for that extra special Pasty crust, or came upon something great by accident ... Why not share it! If possible, include a photo of the finished dish and remember to include the name of the recipe creator.

Please DO NOT include recipes from cookbooks, magazines or other publications that are not your own creation, or that of a family member. If you do submit such recipes, you must cite the source. Here is an example of a recipe from the American Bicentennial Diamond Jubilee cook book, Chisholm, Minnesota, 1976, compiled by the Chisholm Bicentennial Committee:

CASTAGNOLE

5 Eggs	3/4 C Sugar
3/4 C Milk	3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Vanilla	Flour
1 tsp. Brandy or Whiskey

Beat eggs well. Add vanilla, whiskey, milk, sugar, baking powder. Then add flour until it is thick enough to drop from a teaspoon. Drop into hot oil or crisco until a nice brown color. After all are done, place in a bowl and drip warm honey on them. Best when served warm.

These are usually made the eve of Ash Wednesday, but are great for all holidays and family gatherings.
